In the next year Id like to be studying marketing at Concordia and also playing football for the university. I am already fully independent but I’d like to push myself to the next level again and move deeper into the city. The marketing department is in the john Molson school of business located on the Loyola campus. Although this campus isn’t downtown it is another step closer to the city.
Over this summer I’d like to get a job working for either a marketing agency or even do small business marketing evolving, promotional graphics or even a full brand do over. If I get a full-time job opportunity after this summer in a situation I really like, I most likely will not be going to Concordia. If an opportunity comes up for me to do branding and marketing, I will be ecstatic. If this opportunity does come up I will most likely just work that job and see where it takes me instead of going to university.
Getting a job in the marketing industry would help me a lot in the long run. I already have very good references from my job in the federal government and also my previous job as a cook. Having some office work under my belt I think will help me get a job in the marketing industry. If I get lucky this summer and score a gig with something to do with marketing, I think I will be set up nicely for getting a full-time job doing some sort of marketing.
I’d also like to develop my personal Instagram page @it.reid. This page holds all my favorite sports graphics I have made. Mostly for the football team. This is a page that I am passionate about and I’m really proud about what I’ve done. I think I can reach out to other sports programs and make graphics for other schools, and maybe make some money. This page holds a lot of potential and I think has helped out the football program a lot with their advertising. I feel I can do this on a larger scale or even just repeat the same effect on other sports social medias.

About my Career Plan
My ideal career path isn’t clear. I love the idea of rebuilding a company and creating a brand identity along with full stationary sets. But I am also very passionate about sports graphics. Id love to graduate from university as no one in my family has. And if it were to be in marketing it would help me a lot down the road in a career, I’d be interested in.
One thing I definitely know I want is land. In the next 5-10 years I want property to explore and have fun on. I don’t need over 100 acers or anything but id like at least 5. Something I always grew up with was the opportunity to explore the forests behind my house and do whatever I wanted in the field in the front of my house. These are things that mean a lot to me. I also want animals. My mom has always bred and mothered animals and I’ve always loved helping her. In the past year or so I haven’t had time to go home much and drifted away from this side of myself. In the next couple years I want to make time to breed and raise animals for or with my mom. I also want other animals like goats, chickens, dogs and cats to roam my property.
I have also never traveled. In the next 5-10 years I want to visit my family in England, and travel Europe. This could be alone or maybe with friends but either way I want to see more of the world. I want to be financially stable enough to go on trips like this or have a job flexible enough for me to work while traveling. The only time I have ever been out of the country was this summer when I went to the university of Rutgers for a football camp. Although it was fun it only lasted 2 days and I didn’t have much time to explore. In the future I want to travel.
My Professional Interests
I am a very hard-working graphic based designer that loves photoshop and image editing. I have done lots of free lance projects including 2 brand redesigns where I pushed my limits Making entire brand identities from the ground up. I have also done small logo designs for other companies.
I have also worked for 2 years for the federal government, where I not only did graphics but data entry and other SharePoint projects. During this period I learned how to deal with multiple projects and time management. I worked with deadlines and project dates, and I always delivered on time with well researched and good quality work.
My biggest accomplishment is my work with John Abbott Colleges sports teams and in particular the football team. I make weekly game graphics to promote the game each week as well as many other promotional pieces. The team’s social medias lacked new multimedia designs and I came to deliver. This experience boosted my entrepreneurial spirit and I proved to myself that I can consistently deliver extra tasks along with everything else I do in a week. By doing these graphics I have learned how to deal with player and coaches’ input. Having to accompany multiple people’s ideas is difficult, and learning how to do this has helped a lot with dealing with other clients.
